Size of the electronics board is matched to the size of the MK electronics (look at pictures). The firmware is almost finished, the only lacking thing is the configuration software for PC. If anyone is interested please look at the first video from our hexacopter short flight. If you have any advice on how to improve and further customize it, to the needs of the FPV flight, please leave a comment or suggestion. externer Link: externer Link: externer Link: Best regards - Aronax |

| Mitglied Registriert seit: Jun 2011 Beiträge: 140 Ort: Poland | Raynick, Woggle - thanks Fritz - we just finishing work on this board and adding some last improvments. I think that MK version of OSD it will be ready in mid-july. Coptaire - in the test board we have 2 analog inputs, but the microprocessor have 8 a/d inputs so in final wersion of OSD board, there will be more (maybe all of them). With few a/d inputs it will be possible to use allegro current sensors (up to 150A) and few separate voltage indicators (I will keep that in mind when writing configuration software). Within few days we will put some more videos of OSD on youtube. |

Will it be an open source project? A friend and I want to make ourselves a ground based osd that gets its data over another radio link (xbee or modem over tv audio channel). This might be the image mixer/processor we are looking for.

Direction indicators to the next nav point or home position would be better, moving to the edge of the screen if the point is out of FOV I am currently tinkering with the propeller chip for something similar to the RV OSD. For a freely moveable camera with headtracking, I found small scales with pointers showing the current camera inclination on the respective axis relative to the copter very helpful to avoid disorientation. What are you using as a sync separator, EL1883? Cheers - Matze |

| Mitglied Registriert seit: Jun 2011 Beiträge: 140 Ort: Poland | wizprod - this resolution is a compromise between the capbilities of the microprocessor and the needs of FPV flight with goggles. Please keep in mind that in full PAL 1 pixel thick lines are hardly visible and there is a need to use larger fonts if you want to use goggles or watch video on PC. It is possible to achieve almost full PAL resolution but we will need to use processor with more ram (maybe in close future). Soren - unfortunately, this osd will not be open source, or at least we do not expect that to happen. Matze - we use LM1881, simple but useful chip We know that each of us has different expectations from OSD, so now we focus on the configuration software, so that everyone can adapt them (as close as possibe) to suit their needs. There will be few (4) switchable screens with different informations. We hope that many will like it. By the way raw GPS data are quite useful if you're trying to find lost aircraft (checked on our skin) « Bearbeitet von aronax am 09.06.2011 22:45. » |

| Mitglied Registriert seit: Oct 2010 Beiträge: 1334 Ort: Copenhagen, Denmark | aronax, so how does it handle it, when a 480p signal is sent to it ? |
| | |
| Mitglied Registriert seit: Jun 2011 Beiträge: 140 Ort: Poland | We never tested it with EDTV, because most of the equipment works with PAL system. Is it possible to transmit 480p signal over 1,2 ; 2,4 or 5Ghz link ? |
| | |
| Mitglied Registriert seit: Oct 2010 Beiträge: 1334 Ort: Copenhagen, Denmark | Hmm I would think so, but have never really looked thoroughly into it. However, in my Headplay goggles it seem it's at least 480p. A thing to test maybe Would be a deal-breaker if it cropped the signal for example. |

Any TX / RX will transmite the signals, but they will downgrade for the maximum link capacity. I use a normal 2.4 link from a 1080P camera.
It works. |

| Mitglied Registriert seit: Jul 2011 Beiträge: 53 | Hi,
really interesting project as Epi-OSD / Cosd looks a little bit old now in comparison to other osd availables on the market ( but not mk compatible ).
Will it be possible to use one analog pin for reading Rx RSSI value ( and not MK FC fake rssi one )
Don't forget the Passive mode for grabing NC data if we have already mktool connected on the uart link ( with xbee or wii ) or it will saturate the serial port.
I'm actually in contact with Eagle Eye dev team, they will probably port their OSD/Groudnstation on MK too. |

| Mitglied Registriert seit: Jun 2011 Beiträge: 140 Ort: Poland | Hi all, sorry for such a long silence but preparation of the new osd took us longer than we thought. We have encountered various problems concerning the signal strength from different cameras for which our osd had problems with synchronization occurring when image suddenly changed the brightness. But this weakness is now eliminated Looking back at the changes we made during last few months, I could say that this is already version 3 of this project After all there is still a few minor things to improve - but these will be introduced with the next version of software. Here are few images of our new board and a movie from recent flight (pc configuration manager is also shown on movie). externer Link: externer Link: Boards will be ready to sold within a few days - price 99 euros. Best regards and thanks for your patience « Bearbeitet von aronax am 11.10.2011 11:24. » |
