Hello,

apart of the distance they can work, the only difference that I can see between MK Bluetooth or MK WI232 and RangeExtender, is that RangeExtender can be used with a tablet.
Is that correct or am I missing something?

Thank you

The Range Extender extends the limited range of bluetooth devices via 868MHz FSK-Transmission. It is in fact a Bluetooth to 868MHz bridge. It can be "paired" with almost every Bluetooth device, especially Tablets, Cell Phones and Laptops. On the Copter side you need a matching 868MHz FSK-Transceiver.

Michi, thank you for your answer.

I understand how these three sytems work and according to products descriptions in shop, working range for each product is:

SET: MK Bluetooth V2.0 -->The maximum range is 500m
SET: MK WI232 V2.0 868 -->The maximum range is ~1500m
RangeExtender BT-868- ID -->Range: 1000 - 2500mtr under good conditions

Since I dont' have a professional license my MK has a range limit of 250m and all the above products can cover it.
What I want to know if the only difference between these products is that only RangeExtender supports connection with a tablet (MK-TT app).

The license is coupled to a Bluetooth MAC address. This makes no difference if the BT Module is integrated into a RE or used directly as wireless link...
...but I have doubts, that the spec'd 500m of BT are accessible...be happy when you get 50m.

I see.

A bluetooth device is needed if you want to get a licence (ID number).
It is not possible to have a long range with MK Bluetooth V2.0.
So the only options available are

1. MK WI232 but since there is no BT module, so you can not use an ID number
2. RangeExtender

MK WI232 costs 190 Euro while RangeExtender costs 350 Euro.
So the question is, does it worth to pay 160 Euro more just to be able to use MK-Tablet-Tool?

Thank you

I built my own Range Extender by combining a BT and WI-Modul.
An alternative would be to build one based on our FOME 3.0 project. Please refer to the FoMe 3.0 thread.
