I have an error on one of my multis. It is a small Dex Mini. your help will be appreciated.

It has in it a FC 2.2, a NC 2.0 with an external compass and a GPS 2.1

It is powered with a 3A 3S LiPo.

I have tried different configurations in order to have a working copter with Leds, Wi232, 25mW Video feedback and a small cam.

It flew a few LiPos so I know it is possible, but at present it refuses to start the engines.

The compass calibration has been done using the radio + buzzer, the horizontal calibration has been done using a perfectly level glass and the multi from underneath as I can't fly at the moment.

When I start the copter and the radio, I have no error being reported, as soon as I have 6 sats, I try to start the engines I get an error 22.

I can't rely on my memory for a lot of things and i can't remember which values to check to ensure the NC is using the external compas and how to check the values are OK.

What should I check ?

Thanks

Here is a photo of the Dex, about 30cm dia.

Under the hood, you have everything, a bit packed... but it worked fine before...

You can see the Power connector, the GPS 2.1, the external compass on a piece of plastic card.

Under the GPS the LiPo,

Aluminium tape is under the compass, I tested this just in case but no improvement, this is why I am wondering if the external compass is still taken into account and if the values are OK, this is really what i want to check first.

And under the Lipo a support for the battery and underneath the NC 2.0 and the FC 2.2, underneath again a power distribution card, the BL 2.0 are in the arms. ExtPCB for the Leds.

The wiki unfortunately doesn't help me much in this case, and the pictures won't help you... The Dex is built in such a way that you see nothing; Don't worry i have six other copters, I have been through a few errors, a few mistakes, but i lose memory and i can't remember where is described the infos to check on mk-tools to see which compass is in use and if the values are good or not.

The Dex already flew a few lipos and now it refuses to start the motors, I am a bit in the dark as where it can come from.

Sorry, i think it will be a hard work... the power cabels and the battery are the mistakes...

Since I purchased the Dex body, I made a few attempts to make it work, I had some occasional, intermitent issues with the NC 2.0 built-in compas in the early days, this is why I ended up adding the external one.

What has changed ?

1) One BL 2.0, it was returning a wrong temp value
2) The way the "tower" was built, i.e. in the early days I had the distribution board on the bottom of the body, then four vibration absorbers, the FC 2.2, some spacers, a pcbs board with some velcro to hold the battery (same battery), then some spacers, the NC 2.0, spacers, gps. Now, the NC 2.0 is right above the FC in order to have a more rigid attachment to the FC. Now the battery is a bit higher but the tower is more robust, the black spacers were not ideal.
3) I added an external compass to get rid of the occasional compass error.(without success) I actually tested two different NC's and two different compasses with the same results.

What else has changed while I was hoping for my brain to come up with a solution at some point:

4) I added 4 Leds, two red/two white with mini psu's behind an Extension PCB (more wires) can be removed and re-installed in minutes the way it is built.
5) I added a small camera and a 25mW TX

A friend advised me to build another very simple quadcopter with the same hardware to run some tests, i started to prepare a MK quadro XL with four MK 3638, the idea was to move the tower from the Dex to the Quadro with the four BLV2 and see what is happening.... I have not run the move yet... being lazy...

Now it where a hard work... Ok. We must build it from the bottom to the top...
The way is: Take out any magnetic fields...

Please, take out any electronic. Let the Bl-Ctrls in the arms...
Where do you centering the Power to the BL-Crtl's? Please Foto...

I can't see the video, it tells me to load flash, but flash is installed and ok, I am on a Mac, the web site maybe isn't aware of differences.

To show the power board, I must take all apart, absolutely everything. I will do it, but it will mean also the electronics will move to the other quadro...
